Hi D,thanks for explain about the fat. I know fatty liver and storage disorders are common in humans ,and are not ALWAYS diet related. So its difficult to know what sort of significance to attach to fatty organs in a deceased koi.
In sick and ailing Koi there probably is some very complicated metabolic connection with lipid storage. I personally have seen emaciated koi with what looked like fatty organs,but I have no idea if the fatty organs were directly related to their death.
I think that there is a fair and reasonable possibility that some will be genetically predisposed to lipid storage anyway-so fatty food certainly wouldn't help!
