Jim,
So the point being that Go- Sanke are regarded so highly is because they are the most developed and refined of the varieties?
And that all development of other varieties are done on the learning curve achieved through developing the Go-Sanke.
I can see that, for sure, but I would love to know why those three strains were chosen,as there were other mutations around before these that could just have easily been the chosen ones.
I am sure when those first spotty mutts found swimming around paddy fields were noted, the rice farmers didnt decide that they would try and breed a Red and White one.
Sorry if I am going off topic Jim but I guess if anyone would know you would.
