Hi David, hope your Koi are fine.

To answer your specific questions:-

1. I have used this for over 30 years and find it to be an all year round feed without having to resort to any colour foods.
2. Beware food recipe manufacturers who do not keep Koi.
3. Pearl Barley is particularly effective on white ground in cooler water periods.
4. This has been used for some years although I have no experience with this.
5. This is a treatment for the eradication of Hikui - also temperatures of 25C need to be maintained for 3 months in it's usages. It does not improve white ground.
6. I think the manufacture of this has stopped although I keep it for my own use. I had excellent results with this by setting up separate show ponds with aeration and using this at twice the dosage rate. Koi for a show were placed in this on alternate 24 hour periods for two weeks before taking them to the show. The white skin and the beni shone, more to the point - they usually won!

I think Ray hit the nail on the head. If the white ground is in the breeding then careful keeping will maintain it without outside assistance.
