I agree that there are no magic beans to toss into your pond to improve shiroji. This is where less = more.
Buy koi with good skin/genetics and keep in a well designed and maintained pond/filter sytem with excellent water conditions. Do not over stock, over feed, use high protein food, or add unnecessary chemicals to include salt. I also agree about avoiding shallow ponds with intense sunlight as sunlight that is too intense can also damage skin and shiroji.
