I have to say that just recently I have become so disapointed in the 'experts' who write in magazines and internet forums.
It seems that I have totally got the history of Nishikigoi back to front.Because when ever I read any article referring to the japanese standards, japanese selections and judging, the tone of the article seems to put across that they are getting it very wrong. Most atricles imply that the 'us westerners' could teach the Japanese a thing or two when it comes to judging koi.
Please correct me here because I always thought that THEY are the masters and THEY set the standards we follow. Koi appreciation can not be regemented for crying out loud! You have to look with both mind and soul, feel the koi, and understand the subtle brilliance of creating such a thing.
You cant judge a koi from a text book.
