re: Hikui
Dear All,
We have discussed this topic many times and still no one has formulated a cure nor has anyone suggested a formulae which can frustrate Hikui from being further spread (on a fish which already has it).
I recognise it is fish specific. I also recognise that it is not necessarily infectious to fish in the same variety or in the same pond.
I am also well aware that some have confirmed it is a virsus much like warts on mammals and that it can be cured by the application of drug store purchased wart remover - However, wart remover requires multiple weeks of daily applications to be effective.
Thus, the suggested use of an over the counter wart remover is as impossible to apply as is the security of wart remover as a cure.
Some also have suggested that a PP rub will clear it up. Me? I believe otherwise. As from what I know PP will only clear the surface. And, leave the flesh even more exposed to infection.
Some have suggested that Billion Liquid from Maoru Kodama will cure Hikui...however, if you read his literature, it only shows that the flesh can be peeled off with a finger nail. And, one does not need the Billion Liquid to peel off the damaged hikui skin, one can peel it off regardless.
Thus, from all with whom I speak - no one knowns of a cure. However, to this hobbyist that doesn't seem possible.
Therefore, I am herein now asking those now reading this thread - is there scientific work going on that is not widely known to us hobbyist?
Is there anyone in the USA, the UK or Japan working on a cure. Or, perhaps in The Netherlands ~ which we have not heard from...?
Seriously, is there someone somewhere investigating an answer. And, if there is - who is it? And, where are they?
Just wondering...
