A friend gave me a Summer 1992 copy of Nishikigoi International. I was facinated by the article titled "Foam Out" and the article right after it titled "Filteration Philosophy and Design U.S. Style" by non other than our James P. Reilly. Both very interesting. It occured to me that Jim has a lot of experience on Foam Fractionators and I would like to know the benefits of putting one on my Koi pond. I have excellent water quality without one but I am always looking to improve. Back then Jim you had a series of foam fractionators to help your bio filter. "Three counter-current venturi foam fractionators do an excellent job of removing algae, food particles and other organic matter before they have a chance to breakdown and reduce oxygen levels thereby putting an extra burden on the biofilter." That sounds good in today's systems; I would like, taking advantage of Jim's vast experience, what he recommens today. Do you use one? How do you remove the bubbles?
