I think that your assumption is correct. My grandmother was Fannie Lee Scroggins, my great- grandfather was Balaam F. Scroggins, my great-great grandfather was Andrew Jackson Scroggins. My mother's maiden name was Wright and I won't begin to pursue that, I have been doing the "Scroggins" on and off for several years and came to the same conclusion, I probably have a lot of relatives that are everywhere now. But this has been fun and very worthwhile.
