Sorry for taking so long to answer. My uncle, Castor D. Patton, wrote a book titled "Journey to the Cumberlands". In it, on page 18 he writes "Two of Peter Fite's sons, John and Rufus M. Fite, were living in Grayson County, Texas in 1880. John Fite was listed in Henderson County, Texas in the 1770 Census. Both John and Rufus were in the Confederate Army during the Civil War." The "1770 Census" may be a misprint. Could he have meant 1870? I don't know if you have a copy of C.D. Patton's book or not but he has put together a section on the ancestors of Peter Fite that is pretty interesting. I don't know the extent of your information on the Fite family, you probably have much more info than I do, but if I can add to yours I'll do so if I can. Let me know. I take it that "Terrell" is Peter Fite's middle name. This is new info to me. I never knew this.
