We have a good pup available for adoption. His name is Rocky, he is approx. 7 months old. He will need to be neutered as we have not had this done yet. Here is a little bit of his history: He was born on a farm in PA, I guess an unwanted litter b/c they were happy to "get rid" of him. He is a pure breed beagle, but no papers, which we didn't care b/c we were happy to have him as a pet. My neighbor in PA bought him as a companion for her dog, but when he became more of a "pain in the butt" than a good pal for her dog, she gave him to me. I agreed to adopt him & take him w/us to MD. He has made a good companion for my son, but they've had their share of "bickering". While we've had him, we've given him a nice, loving home to grow up in, but our lifestyle is not helping him out. And we've tried everything we can think of. Rocky needs a home where at least one person is home w/him at all times. I was home w/him during the summer, but when school started I had to go back to work. He is a good dog who loves people, kids & most other animals...he's not to fond of cats or large dogs though. He needs to be on a leash at all times, but if you have a fence, he should be fine. He likes to dig, so be careful. He is pretty much out of the "chewing" stage, but we have toys just in case. Please try to help us find him a good home, he is a very loving dog & we love him so very much & this is very hard thing to do, so please, only email me if you are serious about taking him. He loves to cuddle, have his belly rubbed, his butt scratched, he is also very playful. He's very loyal too. But he can be sneaky at times & will find his way into trash cans if not being watched. He's an inside dog, but loves to be outside to play. Also, b/c we've only had him for a short time, we have yet to take him to a vet. We are kind of short on funds, but he did get his first shots on the farm, we have no paperwork for that, so he will need all his shots over again. Also, the only problem he has, is that he still has accidents in the house, but not very often, just once in a while. At night he's gated up in the kitchen w/his big pillow bed. He doesn't bark or whine to go out, so if you are not responsible enough to get up early in the morning to take him out, or every few hours, please do not consider taking him. Speaking of Barking, for a beagle, he doesn't do too much of it, only if it's called for. Rocky has been taught many tricks, he can sit, speak, come (always w/a little coaxing). He does know when he's gotten in touble, b/c he will go and lay down on his bed, but if you tell him to lay down, he suddenly becomes hard of hearing. He also knows how to do "howdy do's" and high five & hang ten, if you're not sure what that is, we'll show you. Getting back to the house training, Rocky is able to be left alone for approx. 4 hours w/out having to go out, but I wouldn't go past that. I want him to go to a good home to someone who will love him, play with his ears & give him lots of kisses, so please help if you can.
