Same shite I've experianced, and I read about it a few times before it happened to my 305. WTF! There is an issue here that Roland needs to address - this should not be happening. My system did not see any use outside of the studio - period. Someone tell us What is going on and what the fix is - cause there is something up. My 305 has collected dust for a freakin year. I'm scared to power it up in case It smokes and I loose a bunch of freakin programming. I think there was a batch of bad chips that got into the line and Roland needs to take care of things cause bad publicity NEVER goes away. That said, I've had a tr-505 since '89 that still functions, and about 20 other roland pieces that I've had good luck with. I spent a month getting into the OS of the 305 and I really like what that box can do. Help me out Roland. That said, any one else out there got the scoop on the fix. The LCD starts going funky and after a while some other unpleasentness starts popping up. NICE. Guess this box will not ever be "vintage". Like I said - Roland makes good stuff - but have to hate on them for the utter failure for no reason of my 305. Did the thing have a freakin stop working date like software?
peace,
