A few years since I played mine as I broke it, perhaps you are expecting too much. As you layer more sounds, the memory resources allocated to each sound is reduced, lowering the quality. Record your pattern as audio, play back from even an mp3 player and jam with that, with full quality from JX. Hoping to fix mine, it's a powerhouse!
