Hi folks, I am new to this MSG BRD but at the same time I am absolutely horrified by all the problems you are having with your units!!, How/what/where/who lol what you doing to the poor things lol!! I had mine on the brink of 1999, and I havent had a single problem with the thing (touch wood) the only problem I have is finding the now out of date 1MB / 2MB Smart Media cards (never had one, never will I guess 
, yeh sure "Roland" wanted to flog me one for £30 but thats a rip off , so I save my data to my pc as a bulk message dump, not that I have much in it really, just a few MIDI settings for Files I use as backing tracks for my blind step dad (he raises money for the guide dogs) he seems to love them lol anyway, if I CAN help anyone I will try, all I can say is look after it, mine was £999 when I bought it, just keep them clean, dry and out of direct sunlight lol, what else can you do?! I still have a crappy Yamaha psr215 in storage, still working, still crap lol.
on a lighter note, some of the stuff iv tried to use from this site is pretty good, however there are a few broken links and wrong file format, also some of the patches cause a buffer overflow, maybe you should check that out ? Best of luck, J x
