If last night's dress is any indication, this is going to be a wonderful weekend at Encores! Marin gave the performance of the night as Lalume... just spectacular, and Stokes sounded gorgeous as ever and was a hilarious Hajj. Supporting cast was all excellent as well (notably Danny Gurwin, who offered a beautiful rendition of "Strangers in Paradise" as Kaliph, and Marcy Harriell, who clearly found her inner soprano as Marsinah), and the 41-piece orchestra sounded wonderful. Great way to kick off the season.
