Re: Transmission woes
Check with Rob at Willy's works in Tucson Arizona for He seems to have good stock of used t90 parts. I would recommend the second gear new though. Look at this way by the time you get it apart back together and get it to work right you will be an experienced t90 repair man😋😋😋😋
Pulling the transmission would be more challenging than a rebuild. Iím not a mechanic and I had succes with four transmission rebuilds. You just need to buy a few tools like snap ring pliars, brass drift, and a dowel the same diameter as the counter shaft. With two broken teeth, you might want to buy all new gears. Or find a good used one cheap and rebuild it. When rebuilding a T-90, always replace the second speed gear because the synchronizing points are the weakest part of this transmission. Whoever rebuilds your T-90, be sure the little pill shaped spacer is not forgotten. That keeps it from shifting in two gears at once.
So many of you'll remember a post a month or so ago about the transmission getting stuck in two gears on my 170. Well, I finally got a good look at it today and it needs a rebuild. There are at least 2 teeth that are completely broken off. Does anyone have a recommendation for a trusted transmission shop in the DFW area? I am not enough mechanically minded to attempt the repair.
