Re: Rear weight
I have heard of a guy who in his excitement to drive his partly restored FC 150, took it for a first run with no weight or bed in place. He lived in a hilly area and when trying to stop at the bottom of one hill, the truck stood up on its nose, major damage. Don't really know if this actually happened, but I can believe its possible so be aware of this if you own a 150.
Hi John, all 150's had the rear weight...it even has a cutout in case you install a pto to the rear. The weight is Very heavy, and without it, when you step on the brake, you would probably break the windshield on the pavement. Also be carefull if you take your truck apart. With my truck on a frame lift, the box off, and all the doors, glass, and seats out of the cab, I could lift the the back bumper with one finger....and the weight was still in the frame!!! Good Luck!
Did all FC 150 have a weight bolted up under rear end to frame. It looks original, was it an option? What does anyone know about it?
