Ok my t98 only has a gasket on the bearing retainer to case mounting, no seal on the input shafts itself. Three t18's I have do have regular oil seals on the input shafts (newer model trans). I did find that the front bearing retainer will bolt on in any of four positions so make sure you install it with the oil drain back port on the bearing retainer in line with the case hole and the hole is open. Did you find the gasket sets I mentioned earlier?
No I'm wrong Ebay #181852848167 is for an FC with a T98 only.
The Ebay item #181852848167 lists the FC150/170 with a T98 or T18 in the application section, Crown Part #J0923302.
I just searched "Ford T98 gasket set" on Ebay motors and it came right up. Item #352391873009.
Also search "Borg warner T98 gasket set". $17.95 plus shipping. Also search T98, T18 gasket set and you find item #181852848167 and it includes the transfer case gasket and looks like output seal for $22.68 plus shipping. Novak lists a complete T98 overhaul kit with bearings seal syncro rings and gaskets, Novak Kit #(T98MR-J) for a Jeep for $228.00 plus shipping but sounds like you just need a gasket set. Have you talked to Napa auto parts, they're usually pretty good. I won't get a chance to check my T98 till later today or tomorrow but will get back to you soon.
