While you are at it, pull the shackles and bushings, eyelets. There are some very specialized components in the front leaf spring shackles in the 170s. FYI, spring replacement is not always necessary as you can re-arc existing springs. If you take that route, have the spring guys replace (press in) the eyelets. Be careful, make sure that you measure the ID and OD of the eyelets as what is sold as replacement parts on Ebay is often not correct. I had all of my eyelets turned out of brass stock and had them take a couple of thousands off of the shackle bolts to spec at a local machine shop here. install new zerk fittings, all greased up, bolted in, no slop, no wiggle. whlie you are under there, take a look at all of the steering components as well. Lots of moving parts, all of the tierod ends and drag link rebuilding parts are available as well.
