1rst weekend cleaned out truck, removed old battery, oil bath, mice nests, front rock guard, interior trim, and sprayed everthing down with wd40 and pb blaster. Went better than I expected as some of the bolts that were rusted I was able to just shear off with brute force-haha!
2nd weekend drained oil, gas, figuring out what/where the various engine/etc. parts are. Started masking for paint and removed wheels. Going to be a driver (I hope) so it's not going to be perfect and it has rust in all the usual body places I have read about here.
Weekend 3 plan is to clean oil bath, fill with oil, put new gas in and put a new battery in it. I plan on removing the center coil wire from the top of the coil and removing the gas line in front of the fuel pump and slowly turn over the engine without spark/gas with the key/ignition/starter first. I can turn the engine by hand from the fan blade so I don't think its seized up and the previous owner said it was running when the brakes went out and he parked it in the carport. If that works I will connect coil/gas and see what happens??
We should see if I have a driver (or a downer) by the end of the weekend.
