Re: T/C Main Drive Gear, throttle wire...
epiphany! All the slots on the 4-speed were lined up, but it was not in neutral! once the output shaft could spin freely, the nut was driven on with an impact wrench, then backed off, and set with a torque wrench to 80-100 ft/lbs. I purchased a replacement lawn mower throttle lever and cable, pulled the center wire out, and it is working like a champ, and I am happier'n a gopher in loose dirt! Your copies of the headliner pattern from Doug Mykol will hit the mail this Monday!
: I have removed and replaced my transfer case
: twice, and cannot find a reason why the main
: drive gear will not seat on the output shaft
: of the transmission. With the T/C off, the
: gear slides on fine, but somehow binds up
: when the T/C is on. Both are in neutral, and
: well oiled. Also, where does one acquire the
: hard, straight wire used for the throttle
: linkage from the pedal to the bellcrank on
: the side of the block? Hey Brian, is that
: one or two stupid questions? :-)
