I cut out and grafted in the rear window frame from a Ranger pickup in my 170. I believe it was a 1987, but I hate to swear to it.
My advice is not to do it. It turned out really nice looking and the frame grafting is not obvious at all on the outside. The frame for the gasket has to be retained, so there is a lip on the inside of the cab.
Most importantly, it was a bad idea! If you open the slider on a hot day, a LOT of engine heat comes rushing right back into the cab! Needless to say, mine stays closed.
: Many years ago there was a discussion on
: putting a sliding rear window from I think a
: ford ranger in and FC with a little cutting.
: Does anyone know what year works?? thanks!
