I have 33x9.50's (15" rims) on my FC-170, and there's plenty of clearance. It has a 2" lift under the front springs, but I plan to lower it back to stock height because that's not a good way to lift the front. It's high enough that it shouldn't hit the fender wells, or flares when I lower back to original height.
The steering linkage is something to think about, but should not be a problem for your FC. Steering linkage is a bigger problem with Willys Pickups and Wagons where the drag link can rub on sharp turns.
You should also consider the back spacing on the wheels you choose. Since you are using stock rims, ask the tire shop if the narrow wheel width is compatible with the wide tires you are choosing.
To be sure, you should mount one tire and try it on the front axle before you mount all four.
