Hi Jesse, I did not want to give up on the old girl but the guy who bought it really needed the parts that were on my old FC. Someone cut up the cab on his and installed a International V-8. I did have the opportunity to drive my Grandfathers many years ago and I did enjoy it.
I picked up the front end tonight and began the restoration process. I also got the spare tire carrier and the front bumper so I am happy. I know it is not the same as having the complete truck but somday maybe the owner of the other FC will have it completed and I can buy that one. It may not be my Grandfather`s but there will be alot of parts from my Grandfather`s making it move. Thank you. Mark.

: A few years ago I posted a message looking for
: information on my Grandfather`s 1961 FC-170
: which I sold in 1997 to two brothers from
: the Syracuse area. I never heard anything
: and thought the Jeep was gone forever.
: Friday my wife and I were coming home from
: the Syracuse Nationals Car Show and we were
: taking a back road when she said there was a
: Jeep in a garage we just passed. I turned
: around and there it was, My Grandfathers
: Jeep. It was 15 years since I last saw it.
: The curent owner just bought it for parts
: for his 61 FC-170 that he was working on.
: After giving him the history on my former FC
: we dicussed if I could buy what ever he did
: not need and he said yes so I plan on
: cutting the nose off (before your stone me
: to hard for this let me say the old girl has
: seen better days) and I plan on restoring
: the front end it to hang on my wall in my
: garage as a tribute to my Grandfather.
: Initally I was sad to hear he was going to
: part it out but after thinking about it I am
: glad that some major parts (engine ,
: driveline etc.) of my Grandfathers FC will
: once again power another FC and for that I
: am very happy. Thank you. Mark.
