Thanks for the response, Steve!
My suspicion is that this truck was originally a 3-spd, converted to 4-speed T-98. The motor cover has the original sticker showing the 4-spd pattern over what appears to be original paint. Somebody did a good job changing the sticker out I guess.
The vin on the truck is 61568-13-10289. That middle 13 indicates a 3 speed trans I guess? I understand a "15" there would be a factory T-98. Title says it's a 1959.
My preference would be to change the truck to a 2-tone paint scheme with the white around the interior and windows. I see some trucks where the roof is white, some with the body color also up on the top. Was there 2 different options for painting the rooftop, or does that change based on the year of the truck?

: That looks like a nice solid DRW. Good find!
: Maybe a previous owner replace the T-90 with
: a T-98? So, the 8,000 GVW on the tag might
: have been correct when new.
:
: It's hard to say about the blue wheels.
: There is no "always" with Willys.
: The early Willys "always" had red
: wheels, but I've learned that was not always
: accurate.
:
: There are enough seats out there, you will
: find a passenger seat, just keep looking.
: If you go to a roundup, someone might bring
: one for you.
:
: Definitely, start tearing into the engine.
: Who says men can't multi-task? (LOL.)
:
: I enjoyed the photos, thanks for sharing,

: Hi guys,
:
: I am not new to Willys, but just bought my
: first FC... it is a '59 FC-170 DRW 4-speed.
: I am very happy to have this FC, I have ben
: searching for a DRW truck for a while. The
: last one to come for sale (within reason)
: was 3 miles from my house, but the ad I
: found was 2 years old and the owner had it
: crushed by the time I called him. Bummer.
: My new truck's pic is attached below (if it
: works)
:
: Some interesting discoveries already:
:
: 1. This is a 4-speed truck and the GVWR on
: the tag (pass seat area) shows 8000 lbs.
: Shouldn't it be 9k?
: 2. The wheels are painted blue like the body
: and appear to be the original paint. I
: thought these were all black or white.
: Most seem to be white.
: 3. My truck is missing the passenger seat,
: so I am in the market for one of those.
:
: I hope to restore this thing as soon as my
: '65 Tuxedo Park CJ-5A is completed, but I
: will probably start tearing this one down in
: advance since the p.o. removed and
: disassembled the motor already.
:
: If the pic doesn't work, you can see my
: project pic and updates here:
