Hi guys,
I am not new to Willys, but just bought my first FC... it is a '59 FC-170 DRW 4-speed. I am very happy to have this FC, I have ben searching for a DRW truck for a while. The last one to come for sale (within reason) was 3 miles from my house, but the ad I found was 2 years old and the owner had it crushed by the time I called him. Bummer. My new truck's pic is attached below (if it works)
Some interesting discoveries already:
1. This is a 4-speed truck and the GVWR on the tag (pass seat area) shows 8000 lbs. Shouldn't it be 9k?
2. The wheels are painted blue like the body and appear to be the original paint. I thought these were all black or white. Most seem to be white.
3. My truck is missing the passenger seat, so I am in the market for one of those.
I hope to restore this thing as soon as my '65 Tuxedo Park CJ-5A is completed, but I will probably start tearing this one down in advance since the p.o. removed and disassembled the motor already.
