1962 FC-170 with a power take off on the back of the transfer. stock truck.Unbolted the transfer case got about 2" separation and noticed that the gears in the trans are trying to come with it. I think the rear bearing on the back of the transmission is coming with the transfer case, there is a bearing sticking out the front of the transfer case. help completely stuck on this one. Do I need to take off the power take off and maybe remove a nut on the shaft, I haven't took one of these apart since the mid 70's. Taking apart the old truck i brought back from ky a couple months ago, the transmission cover is rusted and i have water, did have, its now in the floor, in the transmission, transfer case shifts easy used it to lock and unlock the front drive shaft when taking out the u bolts for the drive shaft. Took the hubs off so it would roll off my trailer. didn't have lock outs just the old steel and cab. Another question while I'm looking stupid, how do I get the gears out of the top of trans with these side shifters, worked on top shifts but the forks are in the cap and sitting in the floor at this point?
