Something's not right. Wonder if the levers got switched even before you bought it? Did you drive it when you first bought it? I would guess your using the FC-170 shifter? They are different. Maybe it's one of the gremlins that pop up when you install a 170 cab on a 150 chassis. The way you have it sure would be one funky throw from 2nd gear to 3rd!

: OK - here's one for you - after all is said
: and done and my jeep is back together and
: moving under it's own power - have not had
: it out where I have been able to run through
: the gears in sequence - but - have found
: that as my jeep is "reassembled" -
: reverse is in the upper RIGHT of the H
: pattern - not the upper left as I have been
: led to believe - I have not
: "driven" it enough to verify what
: the rest of the pattern is - by the way - I
: took lots of notes and photos of the linkage
: - and have re-installed it the way it came
: out - and based on what I saw of the gears
: when I rebuilt the transmission / and the
: relation to the linkage and shift levers -
: it makes sense that reverse is where I find
: it - by the way I have one of Jesse's cross
: shift plates installed - I definately think
: that will save me some grief - but - any
: thoughts out there?
