OK - here's one for you - after all is said and done and my jeep is back together and moving under it's own power - have not had it out where I have been able to run through the gears in sequence - but - have found that as my jeep is "reassembled" - reverse is in the upper RIGHT of the H pattern - not the upper left as I have been led to believe - I have not "driven" it enough to verify what the rest of the pattern is - by the way - I took lots of notes and photos of the linkage - and have re-installed it the way it came out - and based on what I saw of the gears when I rebuilt the transmission / and the relation to the linkage and shift levers - it makes sense that reverse is where I find it - by the way I have one of Jesse's cross shift plates installed - I definately think that will save me some grief - but - any thoughts out there?
