There is no new complete wiper assembly that is made or sold for the FC Vehicles. There are other wiper assemblies for other Jeeps, that are advertised as fit all Jeeps for the years of the FC production. but they are wrong, they mount above the windshield, as are found on other Jeep models.
Craig Brockhouse to all of us is the Wiper man, he previously went to a lot of work to secure a Manufacturer to create a new Electric wiper conversion kit, it replaces the vacuum wiper motor. I won't go into the faults of the original equipment wiper motor. His kit provides a 2 speed or a intermittent switch, a special wiring harness, a simple wiring diagram and the special motor, that has the special mount on it, that exactly bolts into the original mounting location.
How it works:
There is a special rotating mounted channel, that actuates the two inside right and left internal arms, these are connected by special clips to the two shafts, these shafts have a spring washer that is on the shaft, the shaft goes into a mounting hub, these items are under the body. The shafts rotate on the hubs that are held in place with another spring washer and a small special C clip, the hubs have a threaded portion that sticks out, then there is an outside chrome cover bezel, a flat washer and nut, with a unique rubber cover. This leaves a remaining portion of the wiper shaft that has a unique thread, the shaft has two flat sides on it, a knurled hub adapter then slides on the flat sides of the remaining wiper shaft arms, a lock washer and a unique castle nut with a unique thread on it, that holds the wiper arms down. The unique to an FC right and left wiper arms, are also special because they are shaped for the FC windshield.
So of all that I mentioned, do you have any of those parts?
I have some new items that I needed for me, but had to acquire in quantity. I have these parts on display at the FC Roundup, so I have limited quantities.
At some point I will soon be talking to Craig about him also having the reproduced wiper items that I have.
What I have is:
New knurled hub adapters.
New clips for the inside arms.
New C clips for shafts.
New a better knurled outer lock washer.
New the outer unique thread exact replacement FC castle nuts.
I probably have in short supply, the easier to get, used parts for the rest of what you need, except for the rubber covers.
