Hello all, I am sure that there are a couple of caravans on their way south to AZ, have some fun in the sun for me!
As usual, the advise on this site has been nothing short of amazing. sooo, with that I am curious as to what those people that bought barn find FCs have done to get titles. I bought my 170 through this site, a Colorado based Jeep owner interviewed me for about two weeks to make sure I was the 'right buyer' for his FC. I have the FC and a title out of CO that has a deceased individuals name inked in, with a scratched out name of his deceased spouse dated late 1999 and some corrections on the title sale area that have made the title virtually worthless here in Wisconsin. I assume the seller sat on the title since he bought it in 99 and when looking for the seller to attempt to correct the issue, everyone had passed away with next of kin missing in action. Whew.
I am looking to get a title and license here in Wisconsin. I have not shown the DOT here the title nor mentioned anything about it. Thus far, the vehicle has been safely sitting in my garage, never operated on wisconsin roads.
Any suggestions? anyone with a title and accurate ID plate for a 57FC170? My FC has the VIN plate, it matches the title number, etc. I am open for suggestions, ideas or new VIN plate and matching title...
or suggestions as to what the process is to procure a Wisconsin legal, accurate, honest title using the existing VIN and methods that I have yet to discover.
