Not a problem on the 6V. I've converted Jeeps from 6 to 12 and then back to 6 a few times.
I'm an EE, a bus driver and a federal government worker all in one. To get through college (with no debt, thank you mom & dad for the help) I worked on cars, fixed radios for the cops and did commercial and industrial electrical work.
I'm having fun right now trying to get the brakes up to snuff so I can drive it into a storage place until I get my garage set up to handle the FC. The storage lot doesn't take trailer queens and the brakes are, ahh, a bit questionable. They stop the truck but the master cylinder and the right rear wheel cylinder are both wet with brake fluid.
Unless someone in Phoenix can stash it for me until the weekend, I'm going to be busy--I've only got today off!

: Hey Scott,
: How about a picture or two of your new toy
: for the gallery? Don't let that 6 volt
: system scare you. I have a '57 FC-150 with
: the 6 volt system and it's the most
: dependable starter that I own! My former
: best starter was the old firewood FC-150.
: It had a 6 volt starter in a 12 volt system.
: Just couldn't crank her to long!

: It's a very faded green with a white grill.
: I'm assuming it was the relatively bright
: green with the white grill that I've seen in
: a lot of the pictures of other 170s.
:
: It seems to be stock, including the 6 volt
: electrical system.
