I thought they were using the huge Clark transmissions on vietnam era Gama Goat and the same as the gas or diesel 70s GMC fire truck type remote shift cabovers, same was used on Ford F-600 and bigger forward Controls there are a lot of those. They had u-joints, and a shift rod that went around the motor. The earlier GMC of the fifties and forties, those trucks were snub nosed, they did use the SM 420 top loaders, shifter was bent forward, except the doubled V6 2 inline, it had a Clark and at least one Brownie .
Giant diesel GMC forward control cab over flip top semi used shifter with cables. to a lot of transmissions

: top cover. What I'm curious is if anyone else
: has used this transmission and if so what
: cab shifter did you use?It is a selector
: type top cover that was used in the 40's and
: 50's and floor shifters were available back
: then for them. The same transmission was used
: in Chev and Gmc cabovers.Gama Goat parts are
: scarce and I'm looking for a later day
