In my opinion yes. Don't expect much speed though from either set up.

: does that mean that the old motor would be
: better pulling load and the other engine
: better for speed??? ED

: You're welcome Ed. Judging by the NW meet
: and
: greet it seemed the 225 is a good candidate
: for swapping into a 150 in place of the
: F-head. I don't know how well it would work
: in a 170 being a heavier truck. The 59-62
: 226 specs were HP105@3600rpm &
: TQ-190@1400rpm. The 225 specs are HP160@4200
: & TQ-235@2400rpm. As you can tell the HP
: and TQ numbers vary but more importantly is
: where those numbers come in at for each
: engine. The V6 makes more power at a higher
: RPM where the 226 makes it's power down low
: iin the RPM range. I found all this info at
: Off-road.com. The search terms were
: "jeep 225 engine" and "jeep
: 226 engine"

: Hi Ed- totally different animal than a 226.
: Weaker? Probably not, but they are two
: completely different motors. You're
: comparing apples to oranges. I don't believe
: it will bolt up to an auto from behind a
: 304/258. The 225 is a buick motor.

: is this motor weaker than the 226 ??? Will
: it
: bolt up to a auto out of a 304 or 258??
: thanks Ed
