I'm trying to remove the old steering wheel from my 170. I assume it has splines mating with splines on the tube. after removing the nut, I've pounded up with a wooden block on the bottom of the wheel at the tube but it won't budge (soaked the hub with liquid wrench). I can't get a puller on it since there is only plastic to grab onto.
Since I don't need to save the old wheel, I could cut away the plastic and heat the steel hub but I've rather not use heat.
What's the secret?
