Disc brakes on Chevy Dana 44 as were used on 73-75 6 lug C-10 open knuckle will not work on FCs that have closed knuckle housings.
8 lug C-20 were Dana 44 HD or GM 10 bolt and C-30 were Dana 60, these also were all open knuckle, that all have, the Axles splines, axle diameter, housing bearings and axle shaft length that do not fit in the smaller FC Dana 44 front axle housing bearing bore or length.
The earlier 67-71 8 lug C-20 and C-30 were closed knuckle Dana 44 HD, but were the HD model that are different, the internal joints were much larger, so the housings also were the much larger, longer and because these are Dana HD these have larger distance from the knuckles and housings to the hubs.
