That would depend on what ETFs you are trading. There are hundreds and hundreds of them including Industry Sectors, Geographical Regions, Capitalizations etc.
Goto Fidelity.com (you dont have to log on or sign up) and search on "etfs". You will see what I mean. I am not a financial advisor and can't give advise but if your investment is in align with your goals, timeframe and risk, then it could be a good long term investment vehicle.
Refine your long term goals in terms of risk, stability, safety and return.
Any particular ETFs you had in mind?
