Hi,
Do not unwrap the handle! There is no signature under the silk handle! If there is a signature, its on the blade tang. But be weary of signatures. Some are fake names. Also, if the blade is machine made, then the signature means nothing. Also, suppose there is a signature, can you read Japanese? If you need more advise please contact me and I will tell you what you should do next,
