Posted by Kat on 9/24/2004, 3:40 am All right. Really bad disasters cranked out from start to finish in about an hour, in the wee hours of the morning because I have nothing better to do. (stupid homework taking until 2 AM, thereby ruining any thoughts I had of sleeping
) Lisa: Im As Good As It Gets has recently been finding it more and more difficult to move at fast speeds under saddle, and her knee joints have become swollen. A vet examination reveals that she is in the early stages of ringbone. For the time being perhaps permanently you will have to stop riding her and provide anti-inflammatory/painkilling medication. Dream_painter: While on a trail ride, Oded Fehr spooked to the side and crashed into thorny bush. One particular thorn raked his shoulder deeply and left a bloody cut. Although you cleaned and dressed it upon returning home, he refuses to leave it alone. The cut itches him, so he constantly rubs against his stall/fence posts until hes scratched off not only the bandage on top but the scab itself.. Unfortunately, this activity has led to a nasty infection. Treat it with antibiotics and try to devise a way to keep him from doing any more damage. Qh_person: Midnight Splendor has been coughing a lot lately, almost wheezing in her stall. A vet exam shows that she isnt suffering from an illness, exactly, but rather an allergy. She is allergic to her bedding, and the spores are airborne, so you will have to change not only her form of bedding but also all other horses in the barn. Heather: While taking Ive Got the Blues through an exercise today, he stumbled over a bar thrown carelessly across the arena, flipped himself over (throwing you off in the process), and landed squarely on his back. Though he pulled himself to his feet a minute later, he was shifting uneasily, back seemingly out of alignment. Placing any weight on it seemed to cause him extreme pain. He has twisted and damaged several of the nerve endings in his back and as such can no longer be ridden. Its still fairly painful for him anyway, though, so you should consider bringing him to the vets for swimming sessions. P.S. Angelfire suddenly works again! Yay!
