A river wave made Grime step back.

"I know nothing of you," he said, then returned to place when the water retreated. "You know nothing of myself. I see you carrying out a curious practice. Your bloodshed eluded me. Closer inspection leads me to no answers. I only lie in further bizarre. But my curiosity ... it is quite strong."

Grime placed one paw in the water. A black ring of dirt arose around it. When he drew it back, it was somewhat clean. Clear enough to see the original purple color of the fur.
