It was true: Louki was not built for battle. Never mind the fact that he was scrawny, half-blind, and younger than the hyena by a continuance; and never mind the fact that the one battle he had fought resulted in the jagged cicatrice that spanned the length of his muzzle; never mind all that, because it was clear, very clear, that Louki was not interested in a fight.

But though Louki tried to avoid physical violence whenever the situation permitted it, he was not above verbal violence. In fact, he reveled in it. "Oh, only as wonderful as the creatures that inhabit it," Louki replied, with the lofty confidence of a stage actor (not as though he'd know what one was; he rarely entangled himself in the affairs of humans).

"Though true," Louki said abruptly, pacing a yard or so forward, the better to examine the unusual creature, "that I've been there. The alpha, whatshisname -- charming fellow, isn't he? I rather thought we hit it off, but alas... I don't think he much enjoyed my company. Pity. I sensed ours was the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

His tone, of course, was oozing sarcasm. But then, Louki could tell that the hyena, too, had been less than impressed by the Kuna pack and its surly, bat-winged alpha. Maybe -- just maybe -- he had found in Cu Sith an ally, of sorts.

Louki's scar -- which ran from the corner of his mouth to the base of his cheekbone, as if the offending claw had torn straight through his cheek -- was almost an extension of his mouth, and transformed his wry smile into a maniacal rictus grin. When combined with the opaque blue eye, the two disfigurements -- which, as it happened, were located on the same side of his face -- gave him an eerie, almost grotesque, appearence.

That was when he was viewed in profile. Now, as he approached the hyena, he revealed the other side of his face, scarless and unblemished, and he looked as youthful and innocent as any pup. "I don't suppose you had better luck?"

((OOC: Just as a side-note, Louki did go to Kuna, but Taboo hasn't responded to my latest post for, er, a while. So I don't know yet whether Louki's been accepted, though he certainly wants to be. Mostly because it's easier to seize a pack from its alpha when you're already part of it -mwahaha-))
