Though his mind was growing numb with fatigue, Kage still heard her words. His tail beat the ground in response. Being all emotionally, mentally, and physically drained was making speech absolutely impossible anymore, sleep was taking over for the first time in almost a week. His stomach growled in hunger, but he silently told it to wait. He would stay here, as he did what seemed like ages ago, and wait until they woke up together. He couldn't wait! It was one of the things he had missed most while they were apart. With all that in his mind he fell asleep peacefully for the first time in months.
And this time he didn't slip into those horrible nightmares, most of which involved Hayden in some way. He wouldn't wake up tomorrow starting the day out with despair, but instead with the sight of Hayden. Life would be perfect once more...
