The touch of his nuzzle was like a miracle drug for her. She closed her eyes, remembering the feeling after it was gone. Her eyes drifted open, and she sat up on the rock, still a bit shaky from the whole ordeal. She sensed the worry in his voice, and the question brought a sad sigh from Hayden's maw. What had she been up to? It was a good question, really. She looked to Kage gently.
"Me? Oh, sulking mostly. Wondering when I'd get word that you were dead or gone."
She was able to say it in a placid manner which was unnatural. If she hadn't had so much experience in the matter, she might have wavered on the subject out of uncertainty. But she definitely was a veteran widow of sorts. Except that most were never really her mates, more potential mates who she had agreed to become mates with. Before they died or disappeared. It was a cycle was would kill her if continued, especially because Kage really did feel like a mate to her. She took a moment to consider how morbid her statement was, and she gave a soft smile.
"But do not worry, you're actually here."
She would have been more ecstatic, but a part of her still didn't want to get too worked up, at least until she was absolutely sure she wasn't dreaming, dead, or just crazy. But she could cross of the last one due to her recent encounter with Seg, which at least affirmed that she was sane still.
