Posted by Amy Robbins-Tjaden Siebe Gerdes Tjaden was born in July, 1807 at Siegelsum, Ostfriesland near Aurich in Ostfriesland. He died on November 24, 1894 of the infirmities of old age at the home of his children in Chapin, Iowa. He died with faith in his Lord and Savior.

In 1866 he came to Ridott, Illinois. He was there with his wife until she died 14 years ago. He reached the age of 87 years and 1 month. At the home and also at the graveside words of comfort from the scriptures were read.
