Hello, me name is Stevie Tiedens. I am a Scotsman who originated from the Highlands. I have recently been to a Tieden, Tjaden, Tiaden family reunion all the way in sunny California. I was not aware of the spelling of your surname Thiadens, but now I remember that at the reunion I met a lass who was Cleske or Claske or something like that who also had your same surname! Anyhow, what I know about our family history is that we originated in the north of Holland. In Freesland. I have always been told a very exiting tale of how one of our great-great-great-great-great grandfathers had to escape to Scotland after having murdered the father of the girl he was in love with, after having been caught in the hay. He led a very adventurous life fighting celts and other tribes, and spent a lot of time sailing at sea. He actually discovered some Islands near the Outer Hebrides (do you know them?). This information you can even read about in Daniel MacDougals 'History of Scotland'. I guess that his genes have passed down through the ages, because I am locally known as a wildman!!! It's very nice that you are tracing you're roots and I wish you all the best doing so. I hope my information has been of some use.
