That he was born in Medan, Sumatra, and came to Holland, I think during the Indonesia Independence time when Indos (half-Indonesian and half-Dutch) could choose between citizenship in Indonesia or, Holland, and Mr. Albert Tjaden somehow ended up in frigging cold Holland. After freezing his half-Indonesian behind off in Holland, as I recollect today, Albert Tjaden made his way to New York in the USA. And after freezing his half-Indonesian behind off in New York too, Albert Tjaden made his way to Pasadena, California, USA, where I met Al, as I think he called himself then, but his best friends also knew his name was Albert, we met him at Pasadena City College. And Albert "Al" Tjaden had an apartment on Harkness and he was a social guy, liked to give parties, played the electric guitar, had a good "Dutch singing" voice, like a balladeer. Al went on get a University degree from California Polytechnic Institute in Landscape Architecture, and worked for the State of California designing campsites at lakes and restoring an estuary to a functioning wetlands, and so on. He and his Italian wife from Sicily bought real estate and at one time they owned, I think, hey would a good Italian say how many they owned? Anyway, recently Albert left the Sacramento California area and resettled in Washington near Portland, Oregon. He and I may go live in a couple of years in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico. Go to Google.com and type in Lake Chapala, and you will see what I mean. Hey, Tjaden family, Albert Tjaden is my best friend and we have some great conversations; he's a bit of a novice on the computer, though, so I'm having to teach him a few things. Tonight I finally was able to direct Albert over the phone to his Holland family's website, and he posted a long note to you. Be blessed, Holland and Indonesia and everyone. My name is Arthur Holt and I have been Albert Tjaden's longtime best friend for almost 40 years. I am a "full" Dutchman (appparently from East Flanders in the 1500s and 1600s C.E.) who somehow found his Holt family's name into Holland.
