What I know is that he came or was possibly born in Bremerhaven Germany. He went to Indonesia perhaps in the late 1800s. Maybe signed on as a legionnaire in the Dutch Army to protect the Dutch colonies. Or to go there for work. There he married an Indonesian woman and fathered 2 sons and perhaps a daughter. Richard Otto Tjaden and Hendrik Tjaden. The daughter was given up for adoption. The island where this may have occurred was Java. My grandfather died in his 40s. I, Bert Tjaden was born on Sumatra in 1940. In 1953 we went to Holland where the two brothers Richard and uncle Hendrik lived out their lives. Their children, a bunch of us are now living in California and Oregon. I Albert Tjaden 4 month ago moved to Vancouver WA. Can any of my brothers and sisters out there help me out.
