As my brother said, our mother, Eliza Donkersloot Tjaden, passed away in Florida on Dec. 13, 2005. She suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. She was 84 years old. She was born in Clifton, NJ and lived there until her marriage in 1943. She learned how to cook from an Italian neighbor and I haven't yet met anyone who could make a meal as good as hers were. She worked a full time job as a field inspector for Avon Cosmetics in Suffern, NY. Despite working that job our home was always immaculate and meals were on the table at 5PM because of her. Because of the Alzheimer's I believe that we lost her many years ago when she stopped knowing who we were. I have missed her for years already.
