In some sense I think we really all are the same person over and over again, even without invoking communication with parallel universes or reincarnation or whatever. We all have the same instinctual programs running in us, which means we basically have the same aspirations, desires and hopes... We are all slightly different versions of each other, due to our slightly different genetic makeup and our different life-experience (the latter could be seen as the same person in different circumstances). Each of us represents another aspect of what it means (or what it can mean) to be a human being.
