Doucett, originally from Jardinville, NB, joined the army in May 1940. He died in a POW camp in February 1944, allegedly due to complications from colitis but had also been severely beaten a few weeks earlier after arriving in Japan from Hong Kong.
I am looking for any veterans who recall serving with Doucett and can tell me more about this young man. Besides telling me about his character, I'd like to know where he was posted during the battle for Hong Kong. I'm also anxious to connect with any family members who can also tell me about Doucett and share/copy any photographs of him before and during his enlistment.
