Moorings in this whole area are very limited. Most people with sail boats try to get moorings below the bridges that cross from kittery to Portsmouth. If you have a mooring or slip in great bay it will take you at least 3hrs to reach the ocean.
slips and moorings are very expensive. If you are retire military or active duty you may get a mooring at the Navy yard. If not bring your check book because they don't take American express I guess I should stay serious here. Kittery has a temporary program. If a mooring holder is not going to use thier mooring they put it in the program and I will let someone from the temp list use the mooring for a season. How do you get on the list? Fill out the waiting list application located on this web page and send it in (make sure it has 2002 on it) The biggest problem with this program is that I usaly don't know what moorings are available until may or even June.
